On August 1st 1907, Scouting’s Founder Lord Robert Baden-Powell, blew his kudu horn on Brownsea island at 0800 to open the world’s first Scout camp. Soon thereafter, Scouting began to quickly spread around the world and now exists in 216 countries and territories. August 1st 2007 marked the dawn of a new century of Scouting around the world. Australia is celebrating "100 years of Scouting in Australia" and the "Year of the Scout" in 2008.

Scouts aged 10 to 14 years old meet for 2 hours a week and take part in a large variety of challenging and exciting activities. Scouts learn leadership and teamwork skills. Scouts can earn awards while learning useful skills such as bush safety & survival methods, campcraft, first aid, navigation, citizenship, construction and conservation to name a few.
Scout activities include caving, camping, flying, water activities, parascending, abseiling, rock climbing, conservation, bike hikes, canoeing, snow skiing, first aid, friendship, social activities plus lots more.
There are lots of badges to choose from...Target badges have 3 different levels catering to the various ages, and Proficiency badges a Scout can choose according to their interests. All these can lead to earning the Australian Scout Medallion...the highest badge in the Scout Section.
Scouts 10-14.5 year old Wednesday night 6.30 until 8.30 pm.
